Mission Statement:
Since we believe learning is the key to success,
our objective is to create and deliver outstanding
instruction, design services and dvd products that are
recognized for their imagination, technical savvy,
and inspiration.
History
The school was founded in 2001 to provide professional training
and consulting in digital filmmaking and interactive design for
dvds and the web. In 2003, we also began producing educational,
music-based dvds with our in-house, multimedia band, "VyZ." Our first DVD, "Unum," is a journey through the american mindset via 11 short films produced between 1906 and 1965. In 2004, we released our first commercial production, "Novus," about the amazing electromagnetic scientist, Nikola
Tesla. We released our first educational DVD for the college and high school classroom in February 2006, "Star
Cycles - the Timeless Wisdom of Pythagoras," and look
forward to its international distribution in 2007. We invite
you to download a free mp3 from the movie's soundtrack called, "Music of the Spheres." You can preview Star Cycles, and its DVD soundtrack, at starcyclesmovie.com or purchase it directly at Amazon.com. Our latest DVD, "THE LITTLE HAWK SHOW," featuring Native American storyteller Kenneth Little Hawk, was released this winter. It is a wonderful 30 minute performance of classic Little Hawk stories and songs for kids and family with an additional 30 minutes of bonus material. It is available at littlehawkshow.com and Amazon.com.
In addition to delivering digital filmmaking instruction for clients such as the New York Times, we offer an
inexpensive professional web design service for students, business
professionals, and artists called "Career
Portfolios." The "Career Portfolios" are designed for prospective
employers to review noteworthy achievements in a simple online presentation that compliments the traditional resume and
cover letter. See how a recent college graduate, Levy Schroeder, succesfully set up a Career Portfolio to land her current job.
We also provide workshops and consulting
services to companies and organizations who require digital video/dvd/web
solutions, as well as, graphic design for print. We customize
our digital savvy to serve the specific needs of each project.
Our most recent web design work has been for Kenneth Little Hawk, International Film & Video, and the award-winning
Seattle film distribution company, Lenticular
Pictures. We have also worked with local clients such as the School for International Training, Williams
College, Buxton
School, and the Williamstown
Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber retained our services to
produce a promotional film, "The
Northern Berkshires," which was completed in spring 2005 and packaged as an interactive mini-cd/video postcard.
The mini-cd features the promotional film in Flash movie format
with over 500 interactive links to the web... see
press release.
In respect to special events, the school has produced unique programs
like the "artistsON digital filmfest" for emerging digital filmmakers and "promoFest" for performing artists to develop a digital presence on the web.
We especially champion outstanding documentary filmmakers who
want to contribute something positive to the world like Alastair
Fothergill and Andy Byett with their groundbreaking film, Deep
Blue.
On the Research & Development front, we are currently developing
a surround-sound/midi controlled video projection system for live
concert events. Another major project is designing a music visualization system that creates spontaneous video edits based on audio waveforms and rhythmic patterns. For further info on R&D
efforts, contact Rich: rich@pritchardschool.com
